Onenote For Mac Convert To Text 2018

I have a large number of oral history recordings I want to convert to text. I know through Mac I could use Audacity-Soundflower-computer or other output forms but don't know how to do it with Windows 10 or what software could be used in conjunction with Audacity.

Add the ability to be able to convert nots taken on the iPad pro to type text on the One note for Mac. It is on the WIndows version and now you can draw and write with the pen on the iPad pro, you should be able to convert on the mac version.

I am not a tech expert and would like help. Most of the suggestions I have read about seem to concentrate on short voice messages spoken via a microphone onto a computer/tablet. I want to be able to transcribe very long audio files to text via the computer and presume if Mac can do it, so can Microsoft.

I have not received any response which covers automatic speech to text transcription - I have looked at Transcribe, OneNote and others but these require you to listen to the recording and dictate it into a piece of software - I do NOT want to do that, it is far too cumbersome when you have hours of recordings. I have tried it briefly and it works but there are some drawbacks: you have to convert WAV files to MP3 and switch your sound system to the virtual cable, etc. You also need to keep the Google.docs page open for the full recording to be transcribed. I think I will have to upload my recordings to Audacity and cut them into sections to make it easier to replay and be transcribed. As I have said, I am no tech expert and I had to go through the video about 10 times to understand what he was saying and have worked my way through it very slowly and will need to do a lot of testing to make sure I can do it easily - but it did work. I am disappointed that Google has not addressed this issue of having software which allows a recording to be transcribed through the computer as has Apple, the emphasis seems to be on dictatin very short bits of text.
