Toshiba E-studio 5520c Driver For Mac
Hi, We have a Toshiba 5520c and make use of department codes for everything. I installed the drivers on a new server. About a week ago I began getting complaints that it was not prompting for department codes. I've figured out People can still print by specifying their department code in the print settings dialog for each job, but it no longer prompts if a code is not specified. This occurs only on the networked friver. I installed the same driver on my local machine and configered the copier as a local printer with a tcp/ip connection and it prompts as expected. The server is Win.

I've got a high-end business level Toshiba e-Studio 5520c here at work.and she's been working perfectly on Leopard (MacPro Quad Core Xeon). Mac Mini Core Duo, Mac OS X (10.6), Quad Core MacPro (work). Just be prepared that you'll have to add them again. Worth it, though, to print to the Toshiba using its actual driver. That being said. HI, Here is the situation: 1) Toshiba Colour copier model E-Studio 281 using coin op with different rates for colour and B&W printing. We have to be able to send print jobs without specifying that it is supposed to be a B&W print (non-staff public users) by selecting a printer labeled B&W. It needs to work as only B&W printing 2) The company is charged more for the total colour printing than for the B&W printing. At this moment we cannot tell if this issue plays but assuming it does this is a large expense.
3) We have two different print drivers set up for the copier; A) Standard 281 drivers for printing in colour B) Drivers from a similar model that is a straight B&W copier. Here is the issue: We can print to the B&W print (using the drivers for B&W copier) in any MS program, from the net etc. We cannot print a B&W PDF document to the same printer; it does print but in full colour. Does anyone (including Toshiba) have a way to do this? I am not sure about the Toshiba, but most high-end units like this come with the ability to lock out color copies through the implementation of an access code. Our Ricoh was setup this way. When you install on the local machine, install the printer twice like you said - one for BW and one for Color.
On the Color printer setup, input the code under the Valid Access and save the config. On the BW setup, do not input the code.
Now if they try and print color to the BW printer, the job will just fail. If they print it to the Color Printer then it will print fine in color. Hope this helps. Hi Big-E, Unfortunately I have tried that and the settings apply to the individual documents. In our situation the public users may not have the skills to do anything other than choosing which print icon they want to use. With the amount of public use, having staff show them how to do it would not be doable. Thanks for the suggestion though.
