I restarted it, and it was fine. Then I closed it, and realized there was another Opera Mail process running without UI.

At this point Opera Mail didn't restart: it bounces for a while in the dock, then it stops bouncing, I can see the icon in the 'Force Quit Applications', but the UI doesn't appear.
