This thread is old, but I wanted to chime in as I am totally aligned with this author. I don’t worship at the alter of Apple or anything. I love my MacBook Pro, but at work am corralled into a Windows environment which is fine but the human interface is the penultimate element in my workflow and workstation. I just upgraded by desk at home with an Mstand, Apple keyboard, and mouse and have found myself so much more productive without fatigue, mostly from the eye level aspect. Back I work, I’m pained to use this deep depressing horror of of keyboard.

Apple could have put a propriatory keyboard connector on the back of the iMac to incorporate a full USB hub internally to the keyboard, but this would have increased the cost of both the iMac and the keyboard.
